Cold Start
I have a 2001 Therme King SBIII Smart Refer and when it gets into the single digits outside it won't start. any sugestions?
As soon as you get it into the shop and let it start to warm up it will start just fine

HI EVX In my small NH3 plant the compressors will not start if the oil is to cold. Some are thermally protected and the others the pumps arent able to raise the oil pressure . C.D.

EVX Its been foggy out here on the wet coast. However thats no excuse for my previous post. I should also have stated that the compressors I run all have electric oil heaters. This keeps the oil warm and also boils off any refrigerant that may accumulate in the base of the compressors.Hopefully this additional info will make sense. What I was trying to say is warm oil, comp. starts cold oil no go. C.D.
