Refrigerant Requirement
Hi,
I am designing a CO2 evaporator coil for subcritical application. Does anyone know how to calculate the required CO2 amount (? kilograms). The duty of the evaporator is about 16kW.
many thanks,

Re: Refrigerant Requirement
The first thing you need to know is the internal volume of the evaporator.
Then how are you managing liquid flow?
If you are aiming at some form of TXV feed: with a manageable superheat at least 10% and probably more of your evaporator is going to be devoted to warming the "dry" vapor...
