Applications of heat pipes

one application is enhanced dehumidification

heat pipes wrap around a cooling coil, they pre-cool the entering air, this allows the cooling coil to pull out more moisture, then the same heat removed precooling gets transferred back to the air leaving the coil as reheat

another use is in heat recovery ventialtion, they transfer heat between two air streams.

A more famous use is to keep the earth surrounding the alaska pipe line footings frozen so there is no heaving up and down every time the seasons change
