    Trane ERTHC Rotary Chiller Oil

Could anyone confirm if the Trane 048E grade oil is the same as ISO Grade 68 or not?
I need to obtain an alternative source for the oil that this chiller requires, it is running on R134A.

Why do you need an other oil than the one specified?

I would suggest sticking with the manufacturer’s oil.

Thanks for your replies. The reason for the enquiry was purely to try to obtain a comparitive price. In the absence of being able to achieve compatability have decided to purchase the Trane oil.

Hey, Paz has to keep his job somehow! Seriously, I know what you're saying about Trane U.K. Parts, but it's the same with any manufacturer, anywhere. I needed 2 Daikin boards recently & they were just shy of $1000 each!!
I would be careful about putting anything other than what Trane reccomend into thier chillers though, especially if they're under warranty.
For what it's worth I vaguely recall being told that Trane oil doesn't have an exact equivalent. But don't hold me to that.

There are some oil types that are close but not near enough to what Trane specifies. So stick with the Trane oil, you'll keep the warranty!
