    Gasket Material

Was just pageing through Grainger looking for 300# gasket material and was wondering what is the best choice for nh3 applications. Ptfe,Buna-n,Graphite and others all read that they resist acids alkalies oil and are all within the temperature and pressure ranges. Thanks Scuba.

What is the gasket being used for? Flanges? Most O-rings are buna but for flanges you should use something like "Garlok".

keepitcool due to financial reasons it takes forever for our company to set up acccounts with new vendors. Being able to purchase from grainger we were looking for the correct type of gasket material to purchase so we could see if grainger has appropriate material in there selection to use.

plain old-fashioned Fel-Pro gasket material(from a Automobile parts supply house) coated with a thin coat of lead paste anti-sieze works for almost every ammonia system gasket application I have ever come across
