How to charge an r600 system
Hi guys .
I came up with a domesstick two door ,refri gerator (indesit). And it uses r 600 (butane) for *****. The customer complaint was that the compressor was runing all the time.when igot there i checked the freezer compartment the tempr. Was -18c .but the fresh food department was about 10c .the evaporator was frozen only 1/3 of it, the rest of it was barely cold.
Right there iknew therewas ashortage of refrigerant. When i saw the refrigerant was r 600 . (i puled my hair) now what????? If it was r134 a iknew what to do. I know its flamable.
So can you guys give me some ideas of what to do....
Ps.. Many times iwalked away from r600 refrigerators, but this time i whant to give atry. Pleace help

Re: How to charge an r600 system
hello!don't worry!if you have R600(isobutane) spare ,you can install on the suction side of compressor a schroeder valve, normally as i know there is a process stub (welded pipe) for charghing with refrigerant...i do this many thimes if you don't have r600 you can replace the refrigerant with r 409 and cut 20% from cap tube.. hope this will help you ..

Thanks mihai. Are you sure it will
work .i know that r 409 has higher hi side presure. Whould the compressor handle that. Or it eventualy will burn. R600 compresor work in vacume.
