    Adapt a AC unit?

    Hi everyone
Recently we purchased a second hand cooler made by Trane model ECGAH260, T.R 53 in air-conditioned condition. We wish to use the cooler to chill a brine of Propylene glycol (30%) to temperature of -4 degrees.

I seek your opinion if there's a need to make changes to the existing system at the point of change in the water temperature from +7degrees to -4 degrees.

    many thanks,Asad

    Hi, ASAD!

You always can use intermediate propylen glycol/water heat-exchanger. So you can transfer +7 deg. C water to the consumer.

If you can change the settings on the SMM module, then you should be able to do it. Best to get Trane to do that though. Be very careful that you keep the right glycol mix as the plate heat exchanger can be surprisingly easy to puncture on those chillers.
