Copper pipes pressure test

Hi guys.

I'm going to start a pressure test for 30 hp VRV-WII piping sysem.
DAIKIN said don't pressurize more than 40.
Our ambient temperature is variable and we afraid from the increasing of the pressure (causing damages in the equipments) due to temp increasing.
Can I decrease the test pressure to 35 bar to prevent the damages. Is 35 enough?

You should do piping test before connecting equipment!

Rise in pressure is 0,1bar per 1K ambient temperature rise! Predict highest temperature and pressurize according to difference in expected and present temperature.

By the way I will do piping test after connecting equipment to test the flare connections (in& out).

That is leak test!
It doesn't need to be carried out at that high pressure, and also you have possibility that nitrogen goes to outdoor unit thru leaking valves and you end up with non-condensables in system.
For leak test with nitrogen 15 bar/12-24 hours is sufficient. Note ambient temperatures and pressures after temperature is equalized after pressurization (~2 hours later) and at the end of test.

The normal operation compresser pressur is 38 bar, you know that if there is a minor leaks on the system its dosn't appear when testing under low pressur.

I am sure that leaks at flares will show up even at 15 bar!
But, you stick with what is manufacturer said!
I usually make all piping work before and do pressure test at 45 bar. and then connect equipment and test with nitrogen and trace gas (r22) at 15 bar with electronic leak detector. No leaks yet!

Is that a pressure burst test or a leak test?
Leak test can be done at any pressure, while the pressure test has to be done in accordance with your country safety codes. Here in the EU it is according to 97/23/EC directive (PED)

From what I remember its.....

leak test 1.1 x mwp
strength test 1.3 x mwp
(maximum working pressure)

But if daikin tell you to not go over 40 bar you shouldn't.
