Have you got what it takes

Ive been watching that rivetting program on telly tonight, bunch of civvies......on exercise with the SAS.....not actually exercise, but on a program to test their endurance, both mental and physical.

This time, the location is the Namib desert, where the temp hits 40 C. The team are kitted out with packs on their backs, weighing the equivalent of a 7 year old child, plus rifle.

The exercises are intense, punishing, enough to break one down. The members selected are all highly fit inviduals, but they struggle.

So I am thinking, the SAS are a highly acclaimed branch of the armed forces, they take their job seriously, they dont give in or up.

How often, when the going gets tough, do we shrug our shoulders and give up? For us in civvy street, its all too easy.....we just give up.

I learnt a lot from this program, Never give up.........is the motto

Next time youre on a job, and its beating you, dont give up......think, sit down, sweat, perevere, endure the anxiety, the wait, twiddle, fidget, get it done.......then wipe it down.

"The ancient Romans had a tradition: whenever one of their engineers constructed an arch, as the capstone was hoisted into place, the engineer assumed accountability for his work in the most profound way possible: he stood under the arch."
