hoover optima fridge freezer door not closing?

Hi, wonder if anyone can help. The door to my fridge isn't closing fully, it seems to have dropped to one side and is rubbing against the metal base below the fridge section. The only adjustment I can find is a nut at the bottom of the hinge side of the door, but turning this (in either direction) just seems to make the matter worse. There is another nut at the top on the same side but it is in a gap far too narrow to get a spanner in. Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Hello there!

Sorry your having a spot of trouble. If the door has dropped as you describe i would assume that there are some round spacers that sat on the lower hinge .

They have the function of holding the door "UP", as it were, you see.

Here in the Colonies if we don't have the factory part we will make a temporary fix by the use of a circular metal washer with a hole in the middle.

This should put you on track; and remember the door will most likely need adjustment after ward to close flush with the fridge cabinet.

    God Luck to you.
