Reclaim?
Hello,
Gotta reclaim refrigerant from a 16Kw domestic ducted system tommorrow, pressure test & leak test then evacuate and weigh in a new charge.
My question is if both shut off valves are open when i reclaim the gas, will the reclaim unit sucked the oil out of the system? and secondly if that doesn't suck the oil out will the vac pump suck it out?
I have never had to do this with the shutoff valves open before........
I want to keep the oil in if posssible.
any help would be great.
Cheers,
airflo

Re: Reclaim?
Very little oil will be removed by reclaim and evac so you don't have to worry about oil being sucked out.
I've done thousands of reclaim, pressure test, evac and recharges for manufacturers and they've never worried about the small amount of oil that may be removed by the proceedure.

Just a hand operated oil pump like this

Or you can suck it in when the sysem is under vacuum.
