Cooling water from 45deg to3deg
Kindly give some details.
I have to cool the water (20000 Ltrs) in a tank from 45◦C to 3◦C. I have taken 4 recirculation in a PHE ie.5000 LPH and ∆T is 42◦C.The chilled water gets mixing with tank. It is a closed system. Can I know the temperature of the water in the tank after First circulation? & Second Circulation

Re: Cooling water from 45deg to3deg
Just ask for a special evaporator with extremely high amount of baffles and set up the system to accept a high SSH, including a TXV with MOP

Re: Cooling water from 45deg to3deg
Dear sir . . .
For an easy way to estimate the tempretur of the tank after the first circulation calculate the outlet tempretur of the PHE that do the equilibrum formula :
you have 15000 L at 42 degrees
Assume that the 5000 circulated litters and the 15000 in taank L will be at a final tempreture 'X'
the equilibrum equation gives :
m tank x c x (42 -X) = m circulated x c (X - leaving tempreture)
assume that 1 L = 1 kg (in reality this varies with tempreture)
15000 x (42 - X) = 5000 x (X- leaving tempreture)
and you find X.
Please note : this is totaly approximative calculation.
IF you want more precise result you will have to work on integrals using the dm mode.
Respects and regardsEngineering, sciences, math, physics and my brain will generate "not responding " soon
