    410A guages which type?

Hi guys, just about to order a set of 410A guages, but just noticed in HRP book you can either have bourden type or bellows type, does it matter either/either, what would the different applications be..

    Cheers nick..

Go electronic and the gauges will do all the work for you. You can get electronic ones that work all the refrigerants on the market at the moment.

The differance between bourdon tube and bellows is only in the linkages that conect the tube / bellow to the dial. The one thing to take into consideration with the bourdon tube is that it can be deformed if left under great pressure for long periods of time. So if you are pressure testing and leave your gauges under pressure for hours on end the bourdon tube can distort and throw the gauge out of callibration.

    Cheers taz

The Mastercool 33636-EBC2 is a good seller as well as the Q196 Refco Clim set.

To begin with analog gauges be they Bourdon tube or bellows, dry or glycerin are inaccurate before you ever remove them from the box they are shipped in, so accuracy should be enough to encourage anyone serious about the trade to transition away from "traditional" to digitals. Reliability, durability and versatility are a few more.

Outside of a few places on the internet it is not apparent - but the digital manifold gauge is greatly expanding the application parameters of the manifold gauge. Acquisition of pressure values is but a small part of the capabilities of new generation digitals. You also do not have calculation errors when converting your pressures to superheat/subcooling values with digitals because digitals eliminate the need to do these calculations.
