refrigerant design cappacities
Hi all
Does anybody know or have got a conversion factor for R22 against R404A
I need to select a unit to operate on R22 (Existing equipment)but all the manufacturers now only list there capacities in R404A, is there a percentage adjustment that i can use to get the R22 equiverlant????
I need approx 43kw,
Cheers

Re: refrigerant design cappacities
Thanks Nike
Thats not quite what i needed.
example if the manufacturer list the product as capable of 43kw on R404A with a 6 dt
What would that same product do on R22 would it be the same or would it be less than or more than 43kw???
Cheers for your help

What you exactly mean by "product"?
This is correction factor for ECO evaporators whose nominal capacity is given for R22. If you want correction coefficient for R22 for evaporator whose nominal capacity is given for R404A simply multiply given nominal capacity with 1/X where X is coefficient from this table.
Example:Evaporator for R404A at standard evaporation temperature SC2 of -8°C and dt 8K and RH of 85% has nominal capacity 43 kW
What is his capacity with R22 gas at -10°C room temperature and dt6K?
Solution:
43kW x (1/0,714)= 43x1,4=62kW
If you mean other product then evaporator, then I don't see purpose of that conversion from R404A back to "forbidden" R22.Last edited by nike123; 20-08-2008 at 08:39 AM.
