    Chilled Beams

Does anyone have experience/comments on active or passive chilled beams that might be suitable for residential applications?

How do they work for dehumidification? Any problems or concerns?

    Thanks...

If all else fails, ask for help.

    Re: Chilled Beams

Bear in mind that it's about 14 years since I worked with chilled beams...
(please don't tell anybody, I'm feeling old now)

As the beams didn't have condensate drains, the chilled water entering them were kept above dew point. Any dehumidification would therefore be minimal.

But, I do know that some of the modern beams works differently, with fans and everything...

    Re: Chilled Beams

We have one client with a big office where chilled beams are installed (not by us)
They're very pleased with it but as The VIking said, there is in the room a dew point controller form Jumo (Germany) which controls the water temperature to the beams.
There are no fans in the ceiling, just fed by gravity.
    It's an expensive system.
It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.
