R422d ???????

Hi I Have just changed a condensing unit that was on R409A and was advised to use 422D as the new drop in, Do I need to change the expansion valve to an R22 valve as the 134A valve that was on there seems to be restricting quite a bit.

R422d is a R22 drop in refrigerant IIRC??

So if your sytem is on R409a which is a R12 drop in the TEV will not be the correct one (if it is R134a).

So yes the valve might need replaceing but more importantly is R422d the best replacement for R409a???

R-422A is a low temperature retrofit blend with properties very similar to R-404A. It can directly replace R-502, R-402A/B, R-408A, R-404A and R-507. R-22 low-temp systems can also be retrofitted to R-422A with some component changes (TXVs, for example).

Thanks guys the rep from our supplier has now said that 422D can be used for medium temperature R12 or R409A replacement and that changing the valve which I have already done was the right thing to do
