I just baught a air con for my appartment and its got R407c gas and ive never delt with it before. Can i use my R22 gauges or my R410a gauges??
Or do i have to go and buy gauges that are for R407c?

Yes, gauges measure pressure and R22/R407c can be measured by the same instrument unlike R410a (with higher pressures probably needs a wider range gauge).

What you should not use is the temperature scale. I'm not saying you can't because temperatures are close enough but you introduce an error.

It's better to use the same gauge but if you want the saturation temperature, look in a chart for R407c.

Please explain in unexcited text why you think that a Moderator should have responded instantly to this thread.

Also, your assumption that all R22 gauges have the other refrigerants on the dial is incorrect. There are many on the market that have a single refrigerant scale.

Your final sentence assumes that all technicians are at the same level of competence as yourself and we take it on trust that you know what you are doing

Yes this is true. If I needed temps i would definitely acquire the appropriate gauges. I currently work on ULT Freezers and only need to worry about pressures. The temperatures I need and use are inside the Heat Exchanger Condenser. Plus in our system we use R407D. Happy Trails....
