Bitzer BSE170 ester oil

Hello all

I am a new member and I am hoping that someone out there can help me with information. Does anyone know the pour point of Bitzer BSE170 ester oil? If you do know what the pour point is, do you have any documentation or know a link to something official.

It doesn't have one, it simply freezes.

Also doesn't have properties like aniline point, used in complex mixtures like mineral oils wich are petroleum destilates.

POE is a pure substance it doesn't separate wax nor other "stuff".

Yeah, most POE manufacturers publish a pour point for their oils - general rule of thumb has always been that as viscosity increases, so does the pour point. Don't seem to be able to find any Bitzer material though that shows the pour point for any of their oils.

Hi!

Pour pt should be -24 deg C. Test method DIN ISO 306. This are specification from FUCHS triton SE-170 similar to BSE-170. In most cases, application for for screw compressor.

I also have a figure of -25 deg C for Emkarate RL170H - same viscosity so expecting similar figure for BSE170. Would like to have something official from Bitzer though, I've seen cases before where there is a large difference between different brands of same viscosity oil.

Of course there is a pour point. Infact it doesn't freeze. It just becomes so thick, that it doesnt flow.
There's nothing like a frozen oil.

I have 2 BITZER screw compressors.
The oil is Bitzer BSE 170.
i cannot find this oil in Azerbaijan, i found only BP ENERSYN MPS170. Can I use this oil?

No, unless it's a R22 system. In fact the catalogue says: "suitable for use with R 22 and R 502 refrigerants but not HFC's"

Castrol Icematic or Mobil Arctic with same viscosity would do the job.

I have several Bitzer screws on 22, and have been using there gluey what ever oils at horrendous pricing, is there an alternative regular type oil that is complient to specification. Like here 18 litre can is 1000.00 plus dollars
