    Cleaning fan blades

If you need to clean a small shaded pole motor fanblade before refitting, spray some 'Easyfinish' (Advanced engineering) on it. It foams up and the grease just wipes off leaving a blade that looks as good as new.

    Re: Cleaning fan blades

Its worth the effort as a dirty fan blade will on average move between 50 and 60% of the air it is designed to move which obviously effects everything else in the system.

Heres a short vid of the stuff in action on a fifteen year old blade, works just as well on greasy take away blades too.

    Re: Cleaning fan blades

It'll need a good rinse with water as it makes the aluminium go a chemically if you leave it to dry on. Not a problem with fan blades though as you can't see em when they're whizzing round

Don't try that grease gobbler stuff though it'll take the paint off just like brake fluid does
