I'm looking to start my Level 3 in the coming weeks and i heard something somewhere last year that i could get funding from the government (i think) to help towards the cost. Does anyone know about this, im 28 if that makes a difference.

it is possible to get some funding through the government Train to Gain scheme for the NVQ portion but as far as I know there is none available for the Technical Certificate although it is part of the NVQ. A rough cost for the NVQ to you is around £692-00 and the rest is funded. IF you were to do it the traditional route via a college it would cost you around £3000-00 and you would need to go to college to study. Distance learning for the Tech Cert and then the NVQ via experienced worker route would cost about £1400-00 all in.
Any further questions give me a call I think you have my number still.

Great stuff, thats just what i was looking for Ian. I'll have a look at trying to get it funded by the government. I give enough to them it will be nice to get something back
