Thread: Blue Crown Air Conditioning

My company has just finished a site inspection to install 10 air conditioning units. In a place of this size I would normally install Mitsubishi Multi split wall mounted units (In this case I would of used 10 inside, 5 outdoors), but the customer himself, has bought 10 A/C units from a company that have just gone bust.
The units he has bought are "Blue Crown Air Conditioning" systems, which to me sounds like the rubbish you might buy on EBay. However, it's unfair to judge just because I've never heard of them, and a quick look online I can't find them. Just wondered what people’s experiences of them are.
Thanks All
EDIT: A quick look online at the model number i've found out there also called "MITSUVITA"Last edited by Rtic; 09-06-2008 at 02:13 PM.

Re: Blue Crown Air Conditioning
Price the install accordingly for parts and labour only.
Make sure the customer understand (in writeing ) that you will not garentee any work other than your install and any subsiquent work will be charged at normal rates.

Re: Blue Crown Air Conditioning
Thanks Taz
I know how much I'm going to charge him, I've also made it clear that the installation will only come with a 3 months guarantee (we usually give a generous 3 years for our installations), and will only cover our installation, not the system, and he’s quite happy with the price I’ve given him.
I just want to know if anyone knows about the unit, I always like to inform (warn) the customer, when they buy their own units, what they have bought.
I personally installed a VS system that a man bought online (yep EBay) for his office. It worked for a month, packed up and now his blaming me for it, not my installation mind you, just the fact I didn't tell him it was a rubbish system, so now I like to tell the customer what they've bought.

Re: Blue Crown Air Conditioning
Even their website is non-existent although I could find an address in Louth if that helps.

Yeah I found that, Didn't think that it was the same company, just a coincidence. I do now that this bloke bought the systams off a company that have to gone bust. With thier website down maybe this is the company.

This could be the sort of cheap systems you buy from China and stick your own name on. When I search the model number I come up with lots of small companies with Air Conditioning, all saying the same thing; "Powered by Toshiba" such as: -

http://www.airconditioningcentre.co.uk/wallsplit.html
I hate Toshiba, had major trouble with them a couple of years ago, I hope they've approved.

Ah well, just keep your running shoes handy during or after the install

Re: Blue Crown Air Conditioning
To be honest, I'm considering not doing it, might be doing a favour for myself in the long run. The annoying thing is he'll find someone to do no matter what, so I might make it painfully clear to him that I think the systems are rubbish (unless someone tells me otherwise), and go ahead with the job with his say so, with minimal guarantees.

Re: Blue Crown Air Conditioning
About 5 years ago I lost a job to a "builder" who installed Blue Crown in a restaurant
Well, they stopped working and I was asked to sort out the problems
Im not sure who did the installs, but I refused to do anything with them.
I was not impressed at all with them. If you do a "search" on here you may locate the threads on this
