Can we run a freezer on a battery?

    Hi guys,

I am hoping someone out there can help with my problems? I have an ice cream freezer with glass sliding tops and want to run it on a leisure battery or similar, with an inverter.

It has a capacity of 163L and is a 240v. It's rated frequency is 50Hz with a refrigerant of R600a(42g). The energy consumption is 0.95KW-h/24h.

I have tried running it through a 700w inverter on a 110AH leisure battery but every time the freezer kicks in, the freezer goes off every couple of seconds?

I need to power the freezer for around 6 to 8 hours ideally?

    Any ideas please?

    Many thanks,

    Paul.

You need to have inverter capable to deliver current to compressor motor at start of operation which is 6 times greater then when compressor reach his steady operation state. Also, this load is inductive and your inverter should be dimensioned for that fact also.
