    Herl valves

    Hi all,

Does anyone of you have Kv-values of the Herl valves (stopvalves T5/T6, regulating valves R, stop/check valves RUV, ...).
I do not find them in their Technical Leaflets, neither on the web site nor on the Parker websiter, neither in their Herlcalc software).

It would help a lot ...

    Re: Herl valves

Just a refreshment of my request. It seems Kv values are hard to find for Herl valves. Even our local distributor does not have this data...
    Anyone please ...

    Hi Bart,

Thanks for the information. But since I work for a direct competitor of Herl, I fear I will not get far with them. In Belgium I have good contacts with the local dealer/distributor. But he does not (!) have the data ...
They seem to be classified (?).
    Best regards.

    Hi Chemi,

believe me, I know their site. I have searched it from top to the bottom, and backwards , and backwards again. I have their 400 page cataloque in front of me and their software on my laptop. The information just isn't their. Before I start anoying people with a question, I make sure I don't have the answer within reach ...

Like I said, I work for a direct competitor of them.
Asking them by e mail would by like if I was working for the BMW and would send an e mail to Volkswagen to ask for testing results on some of their motors.
I'd rather ask it in an informal way (to people I know working with/for Herl, anyone on this forum ?) then in direct way.

I also think it's strange they keep this kind information hidden. In contrast with all the other valve manufactorers who share this information in public.

    But I'll keep on searching

    Best regards

    Re: Herl valves

    BESC5240,

If the pressure loss or flow calculations you want to make are not critical can you use the values from a similar valve geometry?

This method may not be exact, however the answer should be fairly close to the actual value if you had the real kv factors anyway.
If all else fails, ask for help.

    Bescie, can I do something?
It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.
