Question Access To Large Files For All!

    Hi Guys!
In a recent post Nike, suggested the use of Mediafire.
What is the general opinion of this site?
Is it safe or is their a preferred alternative?

    Cheers Grizzly

Re: Access To Large Files For All!

    Some points to Mediafire!
MediaFire currently has a file size limit of 100MB because bandwidth for serving downloads is the most expensive part of running a file hosting service. For example, 200MB files are 2x more expensive to serve to downloaders as 100MB files, 1GB files are 10x more expensive to serve than 100MB files, etc.
By limiting the maximum file size to 100MB, MediaFire can offer features that no other single file hosting service offers for free:

    • Unlimited disk space
    • Unlimited bandwidth to serve any files under 100MB
    • Unlimited downloads of any files under 100MB
    • Unlimited uploads
    • No waits, lines, or queues to download files
    • No daily download limits
    • No download speed limits
    • Support for most popular download managers/accelerators
    • Multiple simultaneous downloads

In Q2 2008, we will be launching a subscription service that will let you upload much larger files, so check back soon!

I realise you are a fan, but I was trying to gauge other users opinion.
    To remove any bias...

I have a question though, you say
"In Q2 2008, we will be launching a subscription service that will let you upload much larger files, so check back soon! "

Does this not imply that you have a "working relationship" with this site???

Does anyone else have an opinion??
    Thanks Grizzly

Well, you all know about my solution to the problem...

(I don't like limited downloads, have to watch 2 min of advertising before the download starts, installing software in order to download, joining the site and so on...)

    Hi Griz,

Have used Mediafire without any hassle, both for RE and other picture transfers.
Have found upload speed to be good.

    Sorry Nike.
For doubting your reasons to champion Mediafire.

I guess that is what can happen when any of us, copy and paste without editing the text!

In my defence it did read "we"!
    But your explanation is good.

So far I guess the vote is even with 1 vote apiece.
