    Tecumseh comp info?

    Hi to all
I like to know if there isn’t a site or software to lookup the Tecumseh compressor info.
I did remove the compressor from a cold room, there is no indication of gas type, I know its one of 2 (R12/22).
If someone can plz help me?
Here is the serial number- AJ100JT-139
    Thanks

I´ve got a catalouge from 2001. All the modle that start AJ are R407c, and none of them go to as high as 100. Maybe email tecumshe and ask them.

    Hi 330i,

Are you sure of that model # ?

Tecumseh have licensed their designs and they are made by various companies around the world.

I have checked through my reference sources and come up with nothing - I don't think that its a L'Unite Hermetique.

AJ is the series of compressor, I guess that 100 might be 10.0cc,
The following letters and numbers could be Refrigerant, voltage, or Backpressure rating etc.

What size coldroom and temperature - duty could then be worked out.
Is unit a Capacitor start? What type of expansion device? If a TEV you can normally get the refrigerant from the label.

    330i,

Could the number be an AJ100GT in stead of JT? I cannont find a reference to a JT.

The AJ100GT is the BOM number of the compressor. Tecumseh prints this in large characters at the top of the tag. The model number is smaller at the bottom right.

The model number, if a GT, is a AJ4492A or newer AJA4492AXD.

    It is a H12 208/230-1 which pumps about 6400 btuh @ a +25 SST.

    regards Powell

Thanks Powell and Electrocoolman for your help, that’s the only info on the comp, must been a misprint or something. I did phone my local supplier , he also told me that the num isn’t right, but managed to get the info for me of that num. It's a ¾- R12.

Here's a link to Tecumseh model number information. Near the bottom under "Service Data Book" click the link to MAI 2.
