    Cooling tower water pumps



    Can anyone give me any information or recommend a good read on cooling tower water pumps? I just want to know what to look for in regards pressure readings across them and flow rate calculations per size of pump etc.

    Reggie, are you talking about the condenser water flow through the tower or the tower water circulating pump ?

    If it is the tower pump itself I would have thought that the flow rate is more dependent on the discharge nozzles. The pressure at the nozzle is a meaningless figure unless you know what it should be (sounds obvious I know but ...). Nozzle fouling then starts to get involved as well... and so it goes.
