    Refrigerant filling ratio...

    Hi,

I've got one question. What is an average refrigerant filling ratio (kg/kW) for ammonia glycol chiller which works at -15 evaporating and 30 condensing temperatures with gravity flooded plate evaporator?
Refrigerating capacity is about 550 kW.

    Thanks for every answer ,

    Best regards...

Auxiliary question ... if the amount of 150 kg (it's 0,27 kg NH3 per kW) ammonia will be correct for this kind of installation?

I think the refrigerant charge is dependent on your system arrangement and components. The package chillers I have worked on had a ratio of 45.36 kg for 351.69 kW of refrigeration. So the ratio was 0.1289!

This was for a ice skating rink.

This was an owner requirement for transportation, but I think similar results are possible.
If all else fails, ask for help.
