How to find NH3 hermetic pump
Which parameter have been considered? or only I just focus to total plant capacity.
How can we select the NH3 hermetic pump in the correct way. Or anyone has any link to explain for this? Thanks in advance.

Re: How to find NH3 hermetic pump
A pump manufacturer will need the capacity (GPM), differential pressure (PSI), and temperature to make a pump selection for you.
Make sure the pump has an NPSHr around 1.5 to 2 ft less than NPSHa.

Re: How to find NH3 hermetic pump
First to size a NH3 pump you need the flow speed (m/s), next you will need the meter head (m) this is how to calculate.
eg. if I have got 20 m vertical pipe from the pump, 100m horizontal after that. You will have to do this. (100 X 0.15) + 20m = 35m(head). The reason for using 100 X 0.15 is considering the friction loss on the pipe when it is running horizontally. For vertical you will need to use the full quantity. For the above, please consider the last evaporator the pump has got to pump.
Flow speed, normally from a pump vessel outlet we size the outlet to about (0.5m/s) on the outlet before the pump. But after that you will need to consider the flow neeeded to reach the last evaporator.
Lastly, a NH3 pump system is when u size 4:! circulation. This is the best.

what about pressure drop for fittings and valves.
