    Hi

I think you have to look at the whole package, pension sick pay and generally the company.A high hourly rate is no good without overtime or flexibility.Plus you have to enjoy what you do.

    Re: Hourly rate

Also, how honest are people going to be ?

Publishing your hourly pay rate in a public place is never a good idea.

Your fellow man/worker may take exception to your rate compared with theirs.

The customers will see figures that they maybe shouldn't know about.

Aggree with Bernard 100%. The worst job i have had in the a/c industry was by far the highest paid, I am now on a lower rate but happier. Its Ok earning £15 ph but not if its a straight 40 hours every week ,
Look at the entire package and go to youre nearest wholesaler (NRS/HRP) They know they engineers in the area and will know which ones are happiest.

But in answer to youre original question, the industrial/NH3 guys earn the big buck, but they are welcome to it. Probably followed by specalist a/c engineers, transport then standard refrigeration engineers
