Flushing Systems.

What is the best product to use to flush a vapor compression system after burnout or for flushing a system to retrofit from R12 to R134a?

Is there a cheap, safe product for doing this that won't hurt the compressor or affect polymer oils?

Please no one recommend R11

I have great success with Isopropyle alcohol as a flushing agent.

I've don it with compressors with no signs of degradation, I'd try it with a junked one and meg it after to make sure.

dry nitrogen can be used it is cheaper too

best stuff I have used is a product called fenseclean from a company called fense chemicals (dutch I think). It reduced mineral oil content down to a proven 0.1 %

A flushing machine from polar pumps , it is basicaly a pump which circulates the fluid arond the system by replacing the compressor it has a refrigerated on board storage tank to prevent the fluid evaporating/ gassing off and a purge facility to enable the fluid to be remove from the system when its been flushed it cost about £3500.00 but they would come to your site and do it for you if you only have one system that needs flushing

What are you doing with used flushing agent? It said on their web site that it could be distiled.

Yes they offer a re-processing service for the fluid and return it to you as good as new for about a third of the initial purchase price of the fluid
