Use of same recovery machine for different oils
Hello everyone
Am thinking of dumping my old R22 machine and just using my newer Pro-set for everything.
Question is - how many people have had a problem using the same machine with different oils?
Regards

Re: Use of same recovery machine for different oils
Oil-less machine shouldn't give any problems I believe.

Re: Use of same recovery machine for different oils
Interesting Point about charging lines their guys.
Had a discussion whith a newly trained guy last year.
Who said he had been instructed that EVEN purge lines should be purged into virgin reclaim cylinders.
Prior to reuse on another system?
(who is ever brave enough to argue with a trainer when he is wrong?)
I never did find out who the trainer was!
Whatever happened to resonably practical ?

Re: Use of same recovery machine for different oils
I carry two sets of fridge kit, to prevent mineral oils contaminating polyol esther (& vice versa).

Re: Use of same recovery machine for different oils
With oilless recovery units you dont have a problem
probably a good idea to keep lines for mineral and esther oils seperate.
Not always practical of course !

Re: Use of same recovery machine for different oils
Presumably even an oil free recovery unit would be contaminated by traces of oil carried with the refrigerant, which would then mean that it can't be used for the other oil type?
Ditto lines, tools etc.....
