It's not just a case of taking stores, it's about taking the Contract. Space currently do half of the country. Have WR got offices and engineers in as many locations as Space ? Another thing to consider is: if Tesco's move away from Space, Fridge/HVAC, which companies out there can offer both services?

    Re: Tescos

WR have more than twice the locations than space. Including 2 in Scotland which Space have none of.
Look at both their websites and click 'locations'

    HVAC is going in-house anyway.

    Re: Tescos

Before space got the tesco contract about 2 years ago WR did most of the service for tesco and still do some now so if they got the majority of them it would be business as usual, plus if it is the majority engineers will be tupe'd from space, but wouldn't leave space much to do north of bormingham would it. Oh dear poor warrington branch! All will be revealed!!!!

WR has got 24 branches and cover all the uk from them . Space got 10 mainly in the south . I think WR could do the work np . I cover the north west and had the work 2 years ago

But, doesn't that ask the question - "If WR are so good and did such a good job, why did they lose ther contract ?"

Not sure either if TUPE would apply. It all depends on the percentage of work for an individual engineer that is lost. It still leaves Sainsbury's, M&S, Lidl, Aldi, Somerfield and others. With variations per area.

WR lost the contract because they would not work for free . Tesco tryed to tell them how much they would do the work for . It doesint work that way

I was going to buy Space out, the work they was doing is a good turn over not very good profit

    Re: Tescos

I think giving it to project first would be a waste of time.
They are only project managers, I don't think they own a single item or employ an actual engineer (although I could be wrong).

Who would do the actual work, WR? Space?

    Re: Tescos

Apparently Space did not go in cheap, thats why WR got it a few weeks ago but then it got taken off them because of small print .
Only now Space have dropped their price to compete with WR.
