    defrost thermostat closed failure



    hai guys i get one problem in carrier container freezer
    defrost thermostat closing failure or open failure.
    i changed new thermostat,but still there is same alarm appear.
    what is range of closing temperature and open temperature of thermostat. how i can check the thermostat is deffecteive or effective.

    Generally speaking, if you changed thermostat with new one of same characteristics and you did not make mistake when wiring it, then thermostat is not cause of error.
    Also, bare in mind, that alarm is active if temperatures in controlled space is not within acceptable working conditions.

    A common setting for these controls would be:

    Fan Delay cutout at +45 F and a cut in at +25 F.

    Defrost termination approx 55 F

    To determine what you have would require the Brand and model number of the evap and the type of control you have.......... 2 wire, 3 wire, snap disk or adjustable.
