    heat condacting grease



    Hi All:
    can any body tell me what is the best heat conductivity grease can be used between the temorature sensor and the sensor pocket

    Go to electronic components store, and ask for transistor heat grease or something like that.

    As pointed out above, you should be able to find it in any well stocked electronic component's wholesaler.

    But, I must admit that I never seen heat transfer paste used for a temp sensor.
    Normally these are just held in the pocket by a small spring.
    And, if correct readings are critical, the whole section (including the pipe/item it's attached to) would be lagged.

    There is plenty of temperature probes who require this "grease" to work within their specifications.

    The best to use in low temp aplications is Artic Silvers Ceramique. It has been tested as low as -100C and performed excellently and consistantly by computer hobiests! If there is a best compount they will know it, and it has been championed by them.

    And after using it my self I too agree the stuff is sheer gold for sensores, heat sinks, TXV bulbes, any thing that gets cold or hot within the 100C mark +- it will work exceptionaly well for

    It is a non conductive ceramic based thermal past.
