Hi my friend
I need help about hermetic compressor.I want to know the sizes of hermetic compressor interm of horse power eg TL5A = 1/6h.p and other company they symbolized by their code number eg danfoss by TL.. or FR... and ZEM, NECHI,TECUMSEH,EMBRACO has their own code number.So I need the help from you

Hi,
the number in the compressor model number normally refers to the 'cc' of the compressor. You should not replace compressors on their hp rating alone, but on their duty for a particular refrigerant which is governed more by their cc rating than by their hp.
You also need to know if they are rated for LOW back pressure, or MED / HIGH back pressure.
As Brian says look at the manufacturers data.
