    Hi Guys, I need some clarificatio on the effects of "Air in a system". I recently had a system which i know had Air in It. The tell tale signs were there - High head and Cold Liquid Line. The system is a R22 Medium temp Multiplex. I can identify the symptoms, but what exactly is hapenning in the condenser with the prescence of Air.In other words, i understand that Air is a non Condensable and will raise the Head Pressure, But why does the liquid line become cold.

    Any Ideas ?

    air in the refrigerating system increases the total head pressure.total head pressure will equal the refrigerant condensing pressure plus the pressure of the air in the condenser.the refrigerant will have to condense at a higher temperature and pressure.thus all heat is lost through the condenser giving you a cooler liquid line.
