Arrow Water Softening Plant for Controlled Atmosphere Storage

    Dear All,
Atomized Water is used for maintaining humidity in CA Storage.
What sort of Softening Plant is recommended ?
    RO or Brine ?
I think that main concern is Clogging of atomizing nozzles.
The plant is Isolcell from Italy.

Re: Water Softening Plant for Controlled Atmosphere Storage

Condair manual for adiabatic air humidification said this:
A water-processing system with «softening» in connection with a downstream «reverse osmosis» and a closed pressurized storage container is recommended; in this context care has to be taken to make sure that a connection between the point of extraction and the molecular nozzle with the surrounding atmosphere is excluded. Fully desalinated water (permeate) which is available in industries in sufficient quantities can also be used provided flawless hygiene is ensured.

A very good system to increase humidity in the room is the use of atomizer producing small drops in order to avoid the accumulation of water on the skin of the products (fruits and veg.). One of this system is named "kristall" and is reported on the web site of the italian company Fruit Control Equipments.
