How does one decode the Liebert part numbers on a unit, specifically -AAE1

Re: liebert system 3
With the unit there should be a folder (normally in a plastic pocket stuck on the inside of the door but sometimes wedged in by the fan).
Among other things like wiring diagram, manual and such, is the full parts list.
(Unfortunately, without cross reference to part manufacturer's part nos)

Re: liebert system 3
Hi Viking I worked on the liebert units from 1985/1995 They were cooling a computer room for an international vehicle hire company, they were built to an extremely high spec.Cant see how one could have had anything other than good to say about the equipment.

Re: liebert system 3
Mmm,
I thought so.
Nowadays they have gone cheap.
We installed a batch of these units about 2 years ago.
All of them has now had at least one indoor coil replaced, one of them will have it's 4th coil fitted in the next week or so.
The problem is that there is nothing between the coil and the compressor to absorb vibrations, just a solid suction line. And the joint between suction line and header is too weak but in my book even a proper joint will not take vibrations for any length of time.
Add to that a service department that's dodging the customer's calls and a sales department undercutting the contractors that specified their kit in the first place and offers to sell the whole job cheaper to the end-user than they would sell the kit alone to said contractor.
But apart from that, they're great.

Re: liebert system 3
I am surprised to hear that,i am talking German build, specialist computer room units pulling air at high level supply via false floor, they used a semi hermetic compressor which from memory had anacondas fitted.

Ps JPM what do you think?

Re: liebert system 3
I don't believe you are refering to a Liebert System 3 as they are no longer manufactured in Europe.
The problem you refer to is caused by the use of the Carlyle compressor, rather than the Copeland usually used. This problem has now been resolved.
I would appreciate a PM so that we can discuss your concerns (I am guessing by your nickname & looking at your website that I may know you!).Last edited by Tiesse; 20-04-2008 at 06:18 AM.
