How to test TXVs' capacity
see the picture,it is a test method of rating capacity for TXVs used in automobile air-conditioning system.but there is no superheat.i think there must be superheat to open a TXV,am i right?i am so confused and need your help.
could you tell me the test method of TXVs'capacity you know?Thanks!

In your picture they are testing the capacity of a TXV, they are keeping it "manually" open by immersing the temp sensing bulb in water of a fixed temperature.
I always found the easiest way to find a TXVs capacity is to take the details of it and look it up in the manufacturer's data book.

That would cause the TXV to go "wide open" unless it is MOP type.
That method of testing doesn't look like a very good idea as it would cause floodback.

Aha,
But if you look at the diagram, it's some sort of test rig and not a "system"...
