    Mitsi Lossnay Heat Exchanger

    Hi Guys

Got a LGH-100RX3 Heat Exchanger unit which is instaled along with a VFR Ducted R410a system.

Site engineer has been to site to service the kit and has requested a 'Filter' kit for the Lossnay unit.

Requested such from Mitsi and was sent 4 indentical paper filters at a total cost of £418!

Rang Mitsi and they say that's correct and that they should be replaced at least once a year if not twice!

The existing system is about three years old and looks to have never had these replaced.

Customers going to go Balistic and that price and that's with nowt on top for us.

Anyone got any alterantive options on this?

    is this the one?

could a manufactured "V" pleat filter be used?

from memory are they four filters around a dimond shaped honey comb main filter?

is this the over priced beast?

    Yes, that's the baby!

The part code is Y50 063 718 and there are 4 of them at £89 + VAT each!

The system is running fine it seems but the Engineer who attended said that he partly pulled out the Lossnay Core and the filters look rank so just slid it back and ordered a Filter kit not giving a second thought to cost as you'd expect to pay around £75-100 all in.

Are the old filters cleanable does anyone know as we've never had cause do deal with a Lossnay unit before?

    Re: Mitsi Lossnay Heat Exchanger

The small filters should probably be changed out as per any panel filter after they've been cleaned a couple of times.

The heat exchanger sections can be vacuumed, as per manufacturers directions, but that's about all. If they have been allowed to get clogged with dirt then you are stuffed.

We've recently made the same price discovery on one of our sites - ouch.

Some of the other manufacturers market heat recovery ventilations units which look remarkably like the Mitsubshi Lossnay units.
Actually thats because they are all made in the same factory. Mitsubishi have all the patents for the heat excharger technology.
You could always check to see if any of the others do cheaper replacement filters.
I could say more but the moderators wont like it.

i am so glad that this problem has shown up on this great site.
as we have a customer with the same problem.
and no pre filter from outside air in (busy main road)
dont worry sine wave , your customer will be as un happy as ours .
regular maintainance looks cheap , compared to parts..

We had the same problem so we took the mitsi ones to a local filter maker and got them to make similiar ones and sent the £90 mitsi ones back the robbing gits
