    r415b



    hi guys

    what do you think of this gas that is suppose to be a drop in for r12 ? have heard different opinions about it, some say its good some say that it can do damage cause there is a high percentage of r22 in it.. what do you guys think?

    Steve,

    I never used it but if what you say are true (about high R22 content), then I can't see the point of going down that route.
    Come 2010 and R22 will not be produced either and then you are back where you are now with R12.

    did some research and found that r415 has 25% r22 and 75% r152a. over here in malta they are selling it as a drop in for r12... still have serious doubts abouut it..

    As the Norseman said, it will effectively disappear from the market at the end of 2009, because it has HCFC (R22) in it.


    Don't touch it. You can't legally use it after that date.

    I've been using R413A as a drop in for R12 in cars and ice builder systems without any major problems.
