Trane Chiller low temperature operation
I have installed a second hand Trane Air Cooled chiller that used to run on Chilled water but now needs to run on Glycol at -5*C, I have reset controlled to -5 but unit keeps tripping on LP, Superheat is good, suction is between 320 and 350 kPa when leaving gltycol is +4*C. I have been told there is a switch or jumper to change to brine operation but this is not mentioed in the manual I have. The chiller Model is CGAB050, with two x semihermetic comps on R22 with the RCMtype controller, Anyone have a manual to descibe where and what to change for low temp glycol operation

Re: Trane Chiller low temperature operation
Depending on the options on the unit, there can be a lp pressostat on the suction line which you'll have to set to a pressure for a suitable one for your conditions.
On the RCM, there's also a frost setting.
If you send me a pm with your mail adres, I'll send you the list with settings!
