Care on Not to Care - That is the Question

    Evening all,

I seem to be coming accross more and more units that were originally on Care but have since had normal gas (R134/404) put in them. I was just wondering is this a common practice or is it just a case of engineers without a care ticket getting round it.
I must admit, i dont like care, it seems to knock compressors out far quicker when they have a blocked condenser and would there fore question the environmental benifits of using it.
    Your thoughts please

This ones gone very quiet Fatboy hasn't it?

Perhaps we should mention that CARE is a trade name for the hydrocarbon range of gases here in the UK.

    Ok guys,
Sorry, had an Essex boy moment and thought care was worldwide. I am talking about propane and associated gases R600,290,1270,170 etc

hope this clarifies the original post

    regards

Re: Care on Not to Care - That is the Question

Up to date I have been recharging with R49 as I have no experience or training with Care, the only problem I have found when changing the gas is the compressor is then considerably oversized, I am actually attending the Care course on 16th January.

I don't think this is true, if any thing is over sized after changing the gas its the capillary.
Just cut the length to about 2/3rds.
