You talk about an refrigeration software ( Sabroe Techmaster). I'm interested if this software can help to calculate the liquid separator capacity for NH3 plants.

Are you asking about retention volume or separation/velocity capacity?

I have never found a program that I would trust to calculate separation data. I prefer to do it the old long hand method.

The problem with softwear is how well the programer knew his business and if he placed the proper stops in the program.

I do not recommend that you depend on someones unknown softwear to design a separation vessel unless you know in advance how to design it yourself. Ther are just too many varriables here to consider.

I agree with TXiceman. That there are too many variables to consider, and would recommend a system manufacturer for advise. But if you can access the York design program it would be half helpful only if you know the pitfalls.
