Hotpoint Mistral Plus
I've just moved into a house and acquired a Hotpoint Mistral Plus Frost-Free fridge freezer. There was no owner manual left for me.
I am no expert, but the temperature on the freezer (minus 22) seems too low. So, I have tried to adjust it in order to save energy, but I cannot understand how to do this without the manual. Then I tried to get a manual from the Hotpoint website, but nothing was listed for Mistral Plus.
I looked for a rating plate that might also have a serial number, but I the fridge doesn't have one.
Having seen on this webiste that this model suffers from faults that create excessive temperature in the two compartments, I wondered if anyone could help with the following:
1, Can anyone provide me with a link to where I can access a copy of the owners manual, and/or tell me where I can find a model number or what the model number is for this machine?
2, Am I right in thinking that this freezer temperature is far too low? I have seen the advice on the other threads of possible causes, but without the manual I cannot try to fix it.
Since the fridge is too big for my needs anyway, I will probably get rid of it and buy a small fridge. If anyone in Yorkshire is interested in it for parts/repair, please contact me.
Thanks for any advice,
Andrew
Thanks

Hi Andrew and welcome.
You can also try http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk for information on domestic items.
This link is for Hotpoint instruction booklets but you do need a model number, I'm trying to find out where they are

Brian.
That's one hell of a referance library you have there. Either that or the processors in your servers are Co2 cooled!

Yep, I must trim down the 'Favourites' or 'Bookmarks'; they're getting out of hand

Re: Hotpoint Mistral Plus
Hi Andrew, I also have a Mistral. On mine there is/was a label on the back which fell off some time ago. However today, whilst trying to fix a non working fridge compartment, I noticed that there are further labels behind the salad drawers in the fridge compartment. By the way, -22 degrees is the correct default setting for the freezer on these units...
If you want to change the temperature on the freezer anyway, select the freezer on the display, then hold down the temp button. This will cause the display to cycle through the available temp settings. Release the button when the desired temperature shows and then press the save button to store.
