Copper tube and Silver Braising Rods.
1. Copper tube in Australia has colour coded caps for different applications.
Green - Water
Yellow - Gas
Pink -Gas High Pressure (R410a)
Does any one out there use Green cap Copper tube for Small systems or larger suction lines to save money??
2. The % of silver in Brazing rods differs.
5 % should be used with all yellow cap tube and can be used for most applications.
15 % should be used with pink cap and all R410a applications.
3 % is used on green cap and is plumber solder.
Does anyone use 3 % for refrigeration and air conditioning applications... if so why?
---- Just a quiry ----
cheers.

Re: Copper tube and Silver Braising Rods.
Lowest I'd use is 5% for coper to copper only, how ever I have found quality far to wanting thus I am phasing out all my 5% stock and will use nothing below 15%.
Pita to braze with 5% way to picky joint has to be above flawless! That or I am way to picky!
