    Absorption Refrigeration Basics

In Aqua-Ammonia absorption refrigeration, what factors determine the rate of absorption of the ammonia gas into the return fliud flowing down the absorber coil / vessel ???? . Can the Aqua-ammonia solution become saturated with ammonia, such that it can't absorb any more ammonia ???

I would not think so as the amount of water and ammonia in the system are calculated to stop this happening.

The volume (or weight) of ammonia you can absorb in water depends on the pressure. At normal room temperature and pressure water will absorb about 25% of ammonia. In an absorption refrigerator the pressure is about 2000 kpa and you cannot saturate the water.
