Sorry to make an unclear question.
I mean new air conditioning and refrigeration product or component not including tools. For example, a new kind of heat pump /heat exchanger etc.
    Hope it make clear.

    regards

It's not really new but the cost priced it out of the normal persons price range up until recently. It's still fairly expensive but better priced than in the past here in the US...

    Read their technical paper
    http://www.gotohallowell.com/assets/...te_PaperLR.pdf

I don't understand why they're switching on their 2 internal compressors when outside temperature drops to increase max BTU.
If outside temperature drops and you switch on your 2nd compressor, then evapoarting pressure will even drop very fast further down and coil will freeze up faster.
The DT across the coil increases (larger capacity) but the COP drops very fast when evaporating pressure drops.

It's not because you increase pumped volume that capacity will increase. You can only pump what coil extracts.

So, I don't follow them very well. Am I missing something?

Further on my comment, if you use the ambient as a heat source... I have great doubts.

    Re: make your recommendation

To be honest I have never worked on one or seen one. It was just brought up in another forum I go to as something "new" So I can't really speak very intelligently on it .

I did find this article while chatting about it in the other place:

    http://archrecord.construction.com/r...0603edit-1.asp

It was tried out by a university and so far they seem to have good results. Most of this systems seem to be in Canada so far and are just starting to try and branch out in the US. I will keep looking into it more and see if I can add something more useful.
