I have a 15 ton situation where the R22 evap coil is virtually inaccessible and cannot get a new R22 15 ton condenser, but can get an R410A one.
What capacity loss would be there using R22 or R407C in this unit? (We may be able to live with it)
Alternatively, what about changing the compressor to one designed for R22 or R407C?
I realize the pressure switches, etc would need replacement.

what about a r22 compressor? 407,410 use synthetic oil as opposed to mineral so not recommended
Would think you would be better running R410A after changing the expansion device in your existing evaporator if it is rated for the pressure. As IM says above residual oil content could be a problem.
Either way running a miss matched system is not going to be as good as changing out the evaporator to match the new condenser.
Make sure you cover you ass with the contract with the customer or it could come back and bite you!
410 compressor have a diferent displacement to 22 onee so I would replace that one.
Condenser size is about capacity and not refrigerant, it can easily calculated.
For the oil issue, the monkeys are wrong, 22 and 407 are perfectly good with synthetic oil.
TXV shoud be replaced.
