Can't program 2006 Maytag French Door Refrig.

Same old story about these refrigerators. Installed the new main high voltage board and plugged in. PE0000 displayed without initiating the program mode and following the instructions to enter the code doesn't work; ie. Press & hold door alarm for 3 sec. and press freezer - for 10 sec; release alarm button and press refrigerator - button to enter the code. Nope, nothing. Pressing the Refrigerator +/- only changes the display from ice to H20. The details for how to add the code would be appreciated.
